A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Co Galway.

It happened on the N67 at Tonroe, Oranmore, when a car and motorbike collided shortly after 4pm.

The man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later - no one else was injured.

His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
