A man in his 70s has died in a crash in County Donegal.

The single vehicle collision involving a van happened on the R245 at Carrigart at around 1pm this afternoon.

The man driving the van was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one else was injured.

His body has since been brought to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The road is closed for technical examination with local diversions in place.
