A female pedestrian has been seriously injured in a car crash in Co Kilkenny.

The incident, which gardaí said involved a car and a pedestrian, took place on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne in Callan before 9pm on Friday.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30s, was brought to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, to be treated for serious injuries.

No other injuries have been reported.

The road has been closed pending a technical examination by forensic investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision or those with relevant footage to come forward.
