A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the seizure of €150,000 worth of cannabis in the Cranmore area of Sligo on Sunday.

He is scheduled to appear before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on Monday morning.

The arrest and seizure form part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region.

The Sligo Detective Unit searched a residential property in the Cranmore area and found a total of 7.5kg of cannabis.

The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
