A commercial premises in Waterford city has been substantially damaged following a fire last night.

Waterford Fire Service was alerted to a fire in a commercial premises on Poleberry Link Road at around 6.20pm on Sunday.

Fire units from Waterford City, Tramore and Dunmore East responded to find a two storey building which was being used as a store and workshop alight.

The building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

The blaze was brought under control by firefighters at around midnight.

According to Waterford Fire Service, the building was "substantially damaged" with some smoke damage to neighbouring properties.
