A man has been arrested after a firearm and drug seizure in County Louth on Tuesday.

Gardaí investigating the sale and supply of drugs in the Border region searched a property in Drogheda.

A semi automatic gun and 10 rounds of ammunition were discovered along with a small amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A man in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained at a station in the North Western Region.

The firearm has been sent for a technical examination.
