A man has been arrested in Co Wicklow after he barricaded himself into a property, gardaí said.

On Monday morning, gardaí were requested to attend the scene of an incident in Delgany, where a man had barricaded himself into a property following the attempted execution of a High Court order by a third party.

Gardaí said it initiated its operational command protocol, appointing an on-scene commander.

Local garda experts from the national negotiators unit, along with the armed support unit, attended the scene. A cordon was put in place.

Gardaí said the incident was peacefully resolved shortly before 3pm following negotiations and no injuries were reported.

The man involved, aged in his 50s, was arrested at the scene under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. He is currently detained at a garda station in the eastern region.

Two firearms were recovered and seized by gardaí and investigations are ongoing.
