Teenager charged in connection with serious assault of man in Co Cavan

A teenager has been charged in connection with the serious assault of a man in Co Cavan.

The incident happened on Friday night outside a premises on Main Street, Cavan Town, shortly before midnight.

A man in his 20s was taken to Cavan General Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital. His injuries are understood to be life-threatening.

The man arrested in connection with the investigation has since been charged.

He is expected to appear before Monaghan District Court on Monday morning.
