Figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisations (INMO) show there is 606 patients waiting for a bed in Irish hospitals on Monday.

419 patients are waiting in the emergency departments, while 187 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

At University Hospital Limerick, 83 patients are waiting for a bed. 27 people are in the emergency department, with 56 people elsewhere in the hospital.

At University Hospital Galway, there are 60 people without a bed, with 42 patients in the emergency department.

Cork University Hospital has 57 patients on trolleys, with 53 people in the emergency department.
