Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s following a robbery in Ballymun in Dublin.

A man armed with a knife threatened staff at a shop on Marewood Crescent about 2pm on Sunday, before escaping on foot.

Armed gardaí later arrested a man in the Sandyhill Gardens area.

A Garda spokesperson said "less than lethal force options were deployed" by officers during the arrest.

The man is currently being detained and questioned in connection with the incident and a number of similar robberies in recent days.
