A man has been charged following a serious assault at an educational establishment in Maynooth, Co Kildare on Monday.

A man in his 50s is receiving medical treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.

Two other males were also injured during the incident, which is understood to have taken place at Maynooth University.

The assault took place at around 6.50pm on February 3rd.

A man in his 20s was arrested in relation to the incident and has since been charged. He is due to appear before Naas District Court this morning at 10.30am.
