Four people have been “led to safety” by police officers from a house fire in Co Tyrone.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said several police officers were treated for smoke inhalation following the incident in the Cunninghams Lane area of Dungannon.

A spokesperson said the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

They said fire crews arrived at the property to find that four people had been led to safety from the property by police officers.

“Crews wearing breathing apparatus and using firefighting jets, extinguished a fire at the property and rendered first aid,” they said.

“The four persons were left in the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

“Several police officers were also treated for smoke inhalation.”
