Man who brandished samurai sword charged with possession of offensive weapon

A man in his 30s who charged at gardaí with a samurai sword in west Dublin last week has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

It relates to an incident that happened in Castaheany on the January 23rd. A Garda vehicle is also alleged to have been damaged in the incident.

The man will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice later on Friday morning.
