Man (30s) arrested following seizure of over €160k worth of cannabis in Cork

A man in his 3os has been arrested following the seizure of over €160,000 worth of cannabus in Co Cork.

Gardaí from the Cork Divisional Drugs Unit seized the ccannabis and arrested the man during an operation which took place in Carrigaline, Co Cork, on Sunday.

The cannabis herb was seized during a planned operation at a domestic residence. Gardaí have also seized over €30,000 in cash and other equipment used in the preparation of the sale and supply of drugs.

The seized drugs will undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

The arrested man has been conveyed to a Garda Station in Co Cork. He is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardaí said the investigation is ongoing.
