Gardaí investigate after nine people found in shipping container at Rosslare

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of nine people in a shipping container at Rosslare Europort.

Emergency services and gardaí were alerted to the presence of a number of people inside a shipping container at the Co Wexford port at 10.30am on Monday.

Gardaí located nine males and the group was assessed by medical personnel. Eight have been deemed to be in good health while one male is receiving further medical assessment at a hospital in the southeast of the country for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers attached to Wexford Garda Station, supported by the Garda National Immigration Bureau, are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.
