A 56-year-old van driver has died from injuries suffered in a crash in Omagh, Co Tyrone, last month.

Sean McGaughey, who was from the Omagh area, was in a collision involving a car and van in the Drumnakilly Road area on the evening of December 22nd.

Police and paramedics attended and two men were taken to hospital.

“Very sadly Mr McGaughey, who was the driver of the van, later died in hospital from his injuries,” Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI collision investigation unit said on Tuesday.

“An investigation to establish the circumstances is ongoing, and the collision investigation unit is appealing to anyone who may have any information which may assist, or who may have been travelling in the area at the time and captured any dashcam or mobile phone footage, to get in touch.”
