Woman (30s) injured following hit-and-run incident in Cork

A woman in her 30s has been injured in a hit-and-run incident on the north side of Cork city.

The collision occurred shortly before 7am on the North Ring Road in Ballyvolane not far from the Applegreen service station.

The pedestrian sustained multiple injuries in the incident. It is understood the driver failed to remain at the scene.

The woman was transferred to hospital for treatment.

Gardaí are attempting to track down the motorist involved with CCTV security footage expected to play a major role in the investigation.

Members of the public who witnessed the incident or motorists with dash cam footage are also asked to assist gardai who are investigating the incident.
