Yellow fog warning in place for 18 counties

A status yellow fog warning has been issued for most of the country on Monday morning.

The advisory for Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath and all of Connacht and Munster is in effect until midday on Monday.

Met Éireann is warning hazardous driving conditions are likely.

Monday will be a mostly dry day with hazy sunny spells and well scattered showers.

It will stay cloudy across the south and east with patchy light rain and drizzle, clearing towards evening. Highest temperatures of seven to 10 degrees in a light variable breeze.

Monday night will be cloudy across Munster and south Leinster with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading from the southwest

Temperatures will drop to 0 to 5 degrees in a light southerly or variable breeze.
