An 18-year-old motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run collision in Lisburn.

Police received a report that a man had been struck by a silver vehicle at the junction of the Moira Road and Ballycreen Drive just before 6.20pm on Saturday.

Officers said the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist did not stop.

A PSNI statement said: “The motorcyclist, aged 18, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital at this time.”

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw a silver vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner, to contact them.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or other footage,” the statement added.
