Five men are due in court in connection with an investigation into the suspected trafficking of €100 million worth of cocaine off the coast of Kerry.

Four of those, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested in Co Kerry on Monday, while the remaining man, who is 28-years-old, was detained on Thursday after gardaí searched a cargo ship on the Shannon Estuary.

They are due before Killarney District Court this evening.

Despite a number of ships being searched, it is understood no drugs were found.
