Dundalk courthouse was evacuated following reports of a bomb in the building.

Gardaí said they are currently at the scene of an incident on Magnet Street in Dundalk, Co Louth.

In a statement, gardaí have now said the alert is deemed to be a hoax.

"Gardaí were made aware of a security alert at a premises at Crowe Street, Dundalk, Co Louth, earlier this morning, Tuesday, 14th January 2025.

"Following further enquiries, An Garda Síochána is satisfied that the alert has been deemed to be a hoax and the area was declared safe."

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
