An investigation is under way after a man was found dead at a vacant property in Co Donegal.

The man, who is yet to be identified, was found at a property in Dundrain, Burnfoot at around 2.30pm on Wednesday.

His remains have been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Letterkenny for a post-mortem examination.

The Office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner have been notified.

The scene has been preserved for a technical and forensic examination.

The results of the post-mortem will assist gardai in determining the course of their investigations.
