Man arrested for attempted murder after shooting in Newtownabbey

A man has been arrested after a shooting in Newtownabbey left another man in hospital, PSNI said.

Police said a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of offences including attempted murder following the incident, which occurred in the Beverley Road area.

The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said cordons remain in the area as enquiries are carried out.
