Total of 34,000 customers without electricity and 43,000 without water

There are now 34,000 customers who remain without electricity on Monday with 43,000 people without water on Monday.
Uisce Éireann said it is working to restore water supplies to people in north Cork, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary and Dublin while supplies to a further 27,000 people are at risk due to low reservoir levels.
“Our crews alongside local authority teams are working in difficult freezing conditions to access water-treatment plants and pump stations to return water supplies to those affected by bursts on the network and electricity outages,” it said in a statement.
They said they are working to restore water supplies to approximately 17,000 people across Co Tipperary.
Meanwhile, An Post says it will not be possible to make letter or parcel deliveries on the majority of postal routes in Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Tipperary and some parts of Wicklow.
In a statement released on Monday they said "Should conditions improve, deliveries will be attempted where it is safe to do so.
"Post Offices in the same counties are also impacted and while some may be able to open later once power and access are restored, many will remain closed on Monday.
"An Post will proceed on a safety first basis and resume delivery and Post Office services as soon as safety and local access allow."
Met Éireann has also extended the low temperature and ice warning until midnight on Thursday. It was orginally only in place until 12pm on Thursday.

Heavy snow hit some parts on Sunday, with a status yellow warning for low temperatures and ice still in place for the entire country until Thursday.
The RSA is urging motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution on the roads and footpaths this morning.
Hazardous weather conditions are continuing to impact people in many areas with a combination of rain, sleet, snow and ice.
Extremely low temperatures are being recorded in places - with Aoibhinn Twomey from the Road Safety Authority advising people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
Trains from Limerick through Nenagh to Ballybrophy will not run this morning due to the weather conditions.

Met Éireann is warning about the potential impacts of the cold snap including hazardous travelling conditions, icy patches and travel disruption. They are asking people to stay updated by checking warnings website and local advice.
The bad weather has led to the cancellation of HSE services in a number of counties on Monday as well due to "extremely challenging weather conditions."
In a statement on Sunday night, the health authority said most services will continue to operate as normal.
Given the hazardous travelling conditions in Cork, Kerry, South Tipperary, Laois and parts of the Mid West, it has cancelled some services in those areas.
These include outpatient appointments and day services.
The HSE said it is providing updates on impacted services here, and will continue to provide regular updates on their national and regional social media channels.
