A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a woman's body in Roscommon on Monday.

Mirjana Pap, who was in her 50s, was found on lands at Curraghaleen outside Athlone.

The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Meath/Westmeath Division.

Gardaí said investigations ongoing.

Mirjana Pap had been missing since last Saturday, the 28th.
