A man and woman have been charged with the murder of 50-year-old Mark Dorrian in Newtownards.

Mr Dorrian died in hospital after he was found unconscious with head injuries at a property in the West Street area of the Co Down town in the early hours of Boxing Day.

The 33-year-old woman and 36-year-old man are due to appear before a district judge at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with murder.

Police said on Saturday that a 58-year-old woman who had also been arrested in relation to Mr Dorrian’s death has been released unconditionally.
