Woman (30s) dies after hit-and-run in Blanchardstown

A woman has been killed in a hit-and-run incident in west Dublin.

A man was also seriously injured in the crash in Blanchardstown involving a car and four pedestrians.

The collision happened on Blanchardstown Road North at around 5.45pm on Thursday.

Gardai said the driver of the car failed to remain at the scene and has yet to come forward.

The woman who was pronounced dead at the scene was aged in her 30s.

The seriously injured man, also in his 30s, was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

The road remained closed on Thursday evening for technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Blanchardstown Road North between 5pm and 6pm and have camera footage, including dashcam, are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
