Man (30s) dies in single-vehicle crash in Co Offaly

A man aged in his 30s has died in a car collision in Co Offaly in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The single-vehicle collision took place at Moorock, Ballycumber.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no other injuries have been reported.

His body was taken to the mortuary at Midlands Regional Hospital and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The road was closed during a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
