A shot was fired at a house in Co Armagh in what police have described a “reckless attack”.

A police spokesperson said it is believed that the incident happened at around 4am and shots were fired at the front door of the house.

“Officers responded, and inquiries identified damage to the front door of a house consistent with a shotgun strike. There were no reports of any injuries,” they said.

Detective Sergeant James Johnston said it was a “reckless attack carried out in a residential area”.

“As we continue with inquiries to establish exactly what happened, a motive and who is responsible, we appeal to anyone with information that could assist us, in particular CCTV or doorbell camera footage, we would urge you to get in touch with us,” he said.

“The number to call with information is 101, quoting reference 211 19/12/24.
