Young man in critical condition after electric motorbike crash in Limerick city

A young man is in a critical condition following a road crash in Limerick city.

He was travelling on an electric motorbike before being discovered with serious injuries on the Kilmallock Road shortly after 7pm on Monday.

The man in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Limerick, and has since been transferred to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The scene remained closed on Tuesday morning for a technical examination. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
