No explosive material has been found at the scene where the Social Democrats office in Dublin was evacuated.

The Defence Forces said the scene has been reopened to the public after a suspicious item was found in the Frederick Street area.

It was addressed to recently suspended TD Eoin Hayes.

Earlier on Friday, bomb disposal experts from the Army Bomb Disposal Team responded to a request for help from gardaí.

Neighbouring buildings on Frederick Street South, off Dawson Street in Dublin city centre, had been cleared.

The area was sealed off for the security and protection of residents in the area but the operation has now ended.
