His body was discovered shortly before 11.30pm on Thursday night when gardaí and emergency services attended a house in Tobersool in Balbriggan.

The man was declared dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and is currently detained at a Garda station in the Co Dublin area.

Gardaí said the office of the State Pathologist has been notified, and a postmortem will be arranged. The scene is preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
