A status yellow low temperature warning has been issued for 19 counties.

It affects Munster, Ulster, Connacht and west Leinster.

The warning begins at 8pm on Tuesday and runs until 11am on Wednesday.

Met Éireann said minimum temperatures will be around -3 degrees with sharp to severe frost forming.

The warning will be in place for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.
