A driver has died following a road crash in Co Kerry.

One car was involved in the incident on the N22 at Islandmore, Clonkeen, Killarney, on Sunday morning.

Gardaí said the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Formal identification is pending,” they said.

“Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the scene. The local coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be conducted.

“Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“Additionally, they are requesting those with camera footage, including motorists with dashcam footage from the area at the time, to make it available to them.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney garda station on 064 667 1160 or the Garda confidential line at 1800 666 111.”
