Political leaders clashed on housing, public spending, and the government’s response to Gaza in the first TV leaders’ debate of the general election on Monday night.

RTÉ hosted the debate between Fine Gael's Simon Harris, Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin, Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman, Sinn Féin president Mary Lou McDonald, Labour leader Ivana Bacik, People Before Profit’s Richard Boyd Barrett, Independent Ireland’s Michael Collins, Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín, and Joan Collins of Right to Change.

Simon Harris and Mary Lou McDonald both faced scrutiny over their handling of recent controversies involving their party colleagues.

Many have taken to social media to share their opinion on who came across the best during the debate. But what do you think?
