A man in his 40s was pronounced deceased at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, on Saturday night following a single-vehicle collision on Thursday.

The collision, involving a car, occurred at approximately 9am on Thursday morning on the L2007 (Rahan Road) at Ballykeenaghan.

The driver of the car, the man in his 40s, was seriously injured in the collision and subsequently passed away.

Gardaí said the local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 8:15am and 9:15am on Thursday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
