INMO Trolley watch: 448 patients waiting for beds in hospitals

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) show there is 448 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals.

323 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 125 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The hospital with the highest number of people waiting for a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 94 patients waiting for a bed.

Of those patients, 45 are in the emergency department, with 49 elsewhere in the hospital.

University Hospital Galway has 38 patients waiting for a bed, with 31 people in the emergency department.

In Cork University Hospital, there is 34 people waiting for a bed, with all the patients in the emergency department.
