Two people arrested after over €100,000 of cannabis seized in Cavan

Two men have been arrested after gardaí seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €105,000 on Thursday.

This followed searches at a property at Loch Gowna where a growhouse was found, as well as 3.1kg of cannabis, with a street value of approximately €62,000 and 46 cannabis plants, with a street value of €36,800.

A follow-up search was conducted at another address in Loch Gowna, where a growhouse was discovered along with cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €6,400.

Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The man in his 30s has been charged and will appear before a sitting of Navan District Court.

The man in his 20s has been released without charge, pending the submission of a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
