A man was arrested as armed gardaí seized several petrol bombs in north Dublin on Monday.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting organised criminal activity in north Dublin, gardaí arrested a man and seized several improvised explosive devices this morning.

At approximately 10.30am, gardaí attached to Coolock Garda Station, assisted by the Armed Support Unit, carried out a search of a residential property in Balgriffin, Dublin 13.

A number of suspected petrol bombs were recovered.

The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in north Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
