Gardaí travel to Dubai to meet with police over organised crime groups

A delegation of senior gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Organised and Serious Crime Unit and National Criminal Investigation Bureau have travelled to meet police in Dubai.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation between the two forces regarding organised crime groups.

A senior official from Interpol and a Garda Liaison Officer based in the UAE also attended the meeting.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris says his officers will continue to work with colleagues in the UAE and has welcomed the recent signing of an extradition treaty.
