Searches have been carried out in Ireland and Spain as part of a crackdown on the Hutch organised crime group.

The gang was previously targeted in a similar operation in Lanzarote two years ago.

10 searches were carried out in Spain on Wednesday as part of this operation targeting the Hutch organised crime group, that is suspected of being involved in money laundering across a number of jurisdictions.

A home in Clontarf in Dublin was also raided after an International Letter of Request from Spanish authorities.

Both gardaí from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigtion and members of Guardia Civil were involved in today's searches.

A previous search targeting the group was carried out in Lanzarote in June 2022.
