A man has been arrested following a hit-and-run incident which saw a pedestrian injured in Clondalkin, Co Dublin.

The incident involving a male pedestrian and a van occurred at approximately 1.45pm on Sunday.

A man in his 20s was brought to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The van failed to remain at the scene.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s on Sunday night, and is currently being held in a Garda station in Dublin.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
