Four men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of 429 kilos of cannabis with a street value of €8.5 million in Dublin on Friday.

The drugs were recovered after gardaí stopped two vehicles shortly after 3pm, which led to a planned search of a premises in the Ballymount area shortly after 3pm.

All four are detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, at Garda stations in the Dublin Region.

Investigations are ongoing.
