A people smuggling investigation has been launched by Gardai following the discovery of 2 men found hiding in a van that arrived in Rosslare Europort on Friday.

The van was onboard a ferry which docked in the port in the early hours of Friday morning.

The two men in their 30s were discovered by the ship’s crew during the voyage and gardaí were alerted before the ship arrived to Rosslare Europort.

Both men are said to be in good health and have received state supports.

Two men in their 30s, the driver and a passenger in the van, were arrested by gardaí but have been released without charge, pending further investigations, and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
