A man has been arrested after millions of euro worth of cocaine was seized in Co Wexford.

Approximately 36kg of suspected cocaine, worth more than €2.5 million, was found by Revenue in Rosslare on Friday morning.

The drugs haul was seized after the search of a truck which came off a ferry at Rosslare Europort. The seaport handles passengers and freight from the UK and Europe.

The arrested man, aged in his 50s, was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at a Garda station in the county.

Gardaí said investigations were ongoing.
