Man (70s) dies after road collision in Co Roscommon

A man in his 70s has died after a road crash in Co Roscommon.

The collision between a car and a jeep took place on the N4 near Ardcarne, Boyle, on Monday afternoon.

A man was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He later died in hospital, gardaí confirmed on Tuesday.

A woman (40s) was also brought to Sligo University Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
