A man has been arrested over a fatal shooting in Dublin in 2022.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on Monday morning in connection with the fatal shooting of Cormac Berkeley in Clondalkin on December 5th, 2022.

He is detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at a Garda station in Dublin.

The arrest relates to a shooting shortly before 9pm on the December night in question.

Gardaí were alerted to the incident after a man in his 30s was shot and seriously injured as he sat in a car outside a house at Harelawn Park, Dublin 22.

Mr Berkeley was treated at the scene by emergency services but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to the shooting to contact them.

“Anyone with information which may assist gardaí in their investigation is asked to contact Lucan Garda Station on 01 6667300 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111,” gardai said.
