There are a total of 360 admitted patients waiting for beds on Friday morning, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation's INMO Trolley Watch.

250 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 110 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

University Hospital Limerick has the highest overcrowding with 67 people on trolleys, followed by University Hospital Galway with 55 people waiting for beds.

Cork University Hospital has 49 people waiting for a bed, with 45 patients in the emergency department.
