Three men were arrested and quantities of suspected crack cocaine, cannabis and cash were seized after a planned operation in the St Mary’s Park area of Limerick City on Wednesday.

Four residences were searched under warrant along with large areas of open land.

All the drugs seized are now subject to examination by Forensic Science Ireland.

The searches were part of an ongoing operation aimed at targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs and related criminal activity in Limerick City.

The investigation is being led by members of Henry St Garda Station.

Gardaí were supported by the divisional drug unit, the armed support unit, garda air support unit, and the garda dog unit on Wednesday.

All three arrested men (20s, 30s and 40s) have since appeared before the courts.

The investigation remains ongoing.
