A man has been arrested after a suspected petrol bombing at a premises in Cork city last night.

The incident happened at around 10.50am on Ballincollie Road in Ballyvolane.

Gardaí were alerted to the incident and arrested a man in his 30s.

No injuries have been reported, and investigations are ongoing.

Second Officer with Cork City Fire Brigade Victor Shine told Newstalk: "Crews were met by staff of the premises, who said that petrol had been poured onto the decking outside the premises and set on fire.

"They brought the fire under control using extinguishers, and there were some windows open, and some damage done to the internal of the property."
